Great AYCE place that I've been going to for years. Simple setup, for first timers you get sauce guides. You get two trips up and two bowls per trip (I do one for the meats/noodles, one for the veggies). You self serve a side bowl of sticky rice. It's a lot of food so pace yourself. The owner is super nice and is all about helping you have a good experience. The staff is all very nice. Place is clean, easy to navigate in the self serve environment. Fridge of beers and other beverages. Can order an egg roll and fried rice for extra but you won't need it you'll be so full. Everytime I go I try a different dish from their suggested recipes. Doesn't always have to be get as much as you can pile in your bowl. It's going to turn out tasty if you don't overdue it on the chili paste or the soy sauces. Leave room for the soft serve ice cream that's included (chocolate & caramel topping in the fridge).

The food is super fresh! Would love to come here again. I tried the beef and tofu with a bunch of veggies.... Delish! We came here Friday evening , and it wasn't too crowded. The owner greeted us and explained how everything works. Super friendly people! Highly recommend it as a casual option with friends. Totally affordable. Totally unforgettable.

Words I would use to describe Su's: Clean, friendly, informative, tasty, comfortable. I was part of a party of 6. 5 adults and one baby. The baby isn't quite ready for Mongolian BBQ just yet and papa needed a nap, so a couple of us went in ahead to get the table. I never got the name of the gentleman who greeted us and showed us to the table, but he was very helpful and friendly. We were served water, and given silverware and napkins before the rest of our party arrived. Once we were all there, we started piling up at the bar where all the meats and vegetables were laid out. I can recall beef, chicken, pork, and lamb. There is an additional charge for shrimp. There is also tofu if one is doing the vegetarian thing. Of course, there are noodles. Solid assortment of vegetables at the next bar. The same man who greeted us also gave a rundown of how it works, which is incredibly important for first timers and those, like myself, who haven't had Mongolian BBQ in a while. He explained the whole process on how to make a selection, bowls to use, and how to make a sauce for your stir fry. They have their own combination but you can try making others based on what you like. There are four other sauce suggestions but there's nothing saying that you can't put whatever you like. The possibilities are endless! Just know that the end results are a consequence of your choices when picking out the sauces and oils. With great freedom for customization also comes great responsibility. Stick with the basics but also ask for help if you want a suggestion. I would say that dinner time and weekends, the price is more based purely on observation. Prices are posted as you come in. Also, lamb is only available on weekends according to a sign at the meat bar. All in all, this was a good experience for adventurous eaters who also want to literally spice things up or go all out with their food without breaking the bank or being limited to a menu. Check them out. If I wasn't so full, I'd be back tomorrow. Can't wait for the next time I'm hungry and with a bunch of other hungry people because this is the place to be.

Yeah Mongolian BBQ is one of my favorite cuisines of all time. The level of customization you have with your noodle dish is awesome, and the amount of food you get is always impressive. Ever since the pandemic, AYCE Mongolian BBQ have basically become extinct in the south bay. El Camino BBQ went out of business, and Gobi moved to an a la carte model. Su's, while not an AYCE buffet, remains the closest thing left to the AYCE model. At Su's Mongolian BBQ, you get 2 trips to the grill instead of just 1. Each trip to the grill gives you 2 decently sized bowls which you can stuff with meat, veggies, noodles, and more. In terms of MBBQ, this is the place where you can get the most amount of food, which is a plus. In terms of the actual quality of the food, Su's is at the bottom. There's simply not much selection in terms of ingredients: no shrimp (it's available for an extra fee), hot dogs, imitation crab, zucchini, etc. The noodles themselves are also not my personal favorite. They are a thicker wheat noodle, which are super chewy and fill you up fast. I'd prefer the spaghetti style noodles at Great Khan's. The sauce options are also very limited. I feel like even Great Khan's has better sauces. There's no house sauce, and the garlic isn't even chopped garlic, it's a weird "garlic water". Most of the times, my noodle dishes end up either way too salty or way too bland. I feel like if there were more options I could better balance my dish. Nevertheless, I'm going to give Su's a 4 star review. The sheer amount of food is impressive, and it's still fun to customize your dish with the limited ingredients and sauces. The service is also super friendly, borderline too aggressive for an introvert like me, but it is appreciated. The venue is quaint with a nice ambiance. Parking is limited in the small lot but you can also park on the street. Enough talk. Watch my video review here: https://youtu.be/Ng7OaSqrbhU

So here's the thing ... as the Napa Valley Chauffeur I go a lot of different places and from time to time it's always cool to try something different. Pulling a double today....It's been a long day. Really in need of comfort food so I popped into the Su's Mongolian here in Santa Clara and I couldn't be more happy or full ! I guess it helps when I'm in a suit, but Paul distinguish older gentleman as a host was right on point reminded me of the In and outs of how they make their sauce in the house all of that ! This place is straight up comfort food really good food no real ambience to talk about but the food was so good. I still gave it five stars ! Not unreasonably priced so if you get by here, look for Paul distinguished older gentleman, really nice guy and tell him that the Napa Valley Chauffeur referred you ! CHEERS !!!
